Raptor Photonics, a global leader in the design and manufacture of high performance digital cameras is launching the Toucan, a family of spectroscopy detectors aimed at the OEM / instrumentation market.
Raptor will display the Toucan platform at Pittcon, from 7-10 March 2016 in Pittcon, Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia, Booth #1128.
The Toucan is initially available as an e2v CCD-3011 cooled to -40°C. The 1024 x 255 pixels will make it an ideal camera for spectroscopy applications. With 26um pixels it is optimized for high dynamic range and resolution. It will run at 16 bits and have non-linearity better than 1%. It is available in a range of formats (back-illuminated in both USB and CamerLink format.
According to Mark Donaghy, Raptor’s VP of Sales & Marketing, “We are targeting the spectroscopy community with this OEM platform. It will be available in a range of sensors and cooling options, either dry gas or vacuum. It will be very rugged and will operate work from -20°C to +70°C.
The Toucan platform is designed to work across a range of applications including Absorption/Transmittance/Reflection, Atomic Emission Spectroscopy, Fluorescence & Luminescence, NIR Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy (244 – 488 nm), Raman Spectroscopy (514, 531, 633 nm), Raman Spectroscopy (785, 830 nm) and UV-VIS-NIR Broadband Spectroscopy.
